The Jofeh Community Rehabilitation Center is part of The 'Holy Land Institute for the Deaf '(HLID)., which seeks to develop and provide comprehensive services for people who are deaf, deafblind or otherwise disabled. It wishes to enable and equip them for inclusion and participation in their families and civic society in a meaningful way. This goal is facilitated by encouraging and training others, both disabled and non-disabled, to take on these tasks as well. The institute was established in 1964 as a small school for deaf children. Since then it has been in an almost state of expansion, trying to meet some of the great needs in Jordan and the Middle East. Seven departments now operate under the auspices of the Institute. Each is specialised in a particular aspect of the education, training and rehabilitation of deaf and disabled persons.
The Institute is directed by
